Trail-bound 7.25-mile course tests runners of all ages and abilities during fifth annual Galena Fest supporting outdoor recreation
Running was popular in Europe long before it caught on in America, which is why most races are measured in kilometers and why most of the Pilgrims were eaten by bears. Race to the top of the food chain with this Groupon.
Starting at 9:30 a.m., runners of all ages and abilities zip through 7.25 miles of trails, starting at Galena Creek Regional Park. Those who register before September 19 receive a free T-shirt, and runners 21 and older who show their Groupon at Galena Fest will receive a complimentary beer.
Held on September 29, the fifth annual Galena Fest combines a mountain bike challenge and a 7.25-mile trail run to raise funds and awareness to support outdoor recreation by investing in new trail construction and youth programs. Additionally, food and drink tents, live bands, and craft vendors will be present to liven up the atmosphere, and kid favorites Art-in-the-Park and The Big Fish contest are returning to this year's fest.
The South Reno Athletic Club overwhelms occupants with a sleek selection of fitness challenges spread out over 91,000 square feet. Group exercise classes tone triceps, traps and core while participants cross-train with a game of racquetball or sprint round the indoor running track. The center also offers a speed school for improving your vertical leap and an indoor driving range for ruining your relations with overhead light bulbs.
