A Chat with The Stables
The Stables – one of four Prime Time Boxing locations – features not only great boxing workouts, but training from founder Cary Williams. As an amateur boxer, Cary clobbered her way to the title at the Pacific Northwest Women's Tournament before hanging up her gloves. Since then, she has founded Prime Time Boxing, promoted fitness through media outlets such as NBC and the New York Times, and been recognized by the California Legislature for her contributions to and impact on girls' sports.
Cary brings the intensity, focus, and motivation that has allowed her to accomplish so much to every training session at The Stables. During private and small-group classes, she uses progressive methods to improve her clients' fighting skills and general physical fitness. But she also uses classic boxing techniques, such as skipping rope and shadow boxing, not to be confused with shadow hitting, which is when athletes attempt to punch the shadows off their opponents.
