Perspiration gets mischievous when cooped up inside the body, acting out by drenching armpits on first dates and disguising itself as tears during job interviews. Release disgruntled body water with today's Groupon: for $29, you get one month of unlimited fitness classes at FIMB the Stiletto Gym in Lee's Summit (a $59.18 value).
FIMB the Stiletto Gym strives to boost confidence and body image with a wide range of exhilarating feminine fitness classes. One full month of unlimited classes affords exercisers the time to become acquainted with Polga, which was invented by FIMB owner Carla Mock to blend the sexy confidence of pole dancing, the centering calm and flexibility of yoga, and the adorable pronunciation of “polka” when you have a cold. Along with music-fueled Stiletto Strength and Sexy Stretch classes, students can firm up muscles and pump up their pulse with the sultry sedentary techniques of cardio Chair Fitness. Chandeliers hang over the guests at FIMB's spacious studio, which comes equipped with 12 poles for building strength, enhancing sexiness, and practicing your firefighter exit.
FIMB the Stiletto Gym
Carla Mock believes that everybody deserves to look and feel fabulous. When she founded a gym where she could teach her unique combination of yoga, pole fitness, and burlesque, she sought a name that encapsulated her philosophy. That's how she arrived at FIMB, which stands for Fabulous in Mind and Body.
Shining poles run from floor to ceiling in the warmly lit, orange-walled studio, giving students structures to twirl around during pole-fitness classes and sturdy supports to bend between during yoga sessions. Polga—one of Carla's original creations—combines yogic stretching with the upper-body workout of pole dancing. Students use the poles to enhance alignment and perform classic yoga poses, unlike Santa’s elves, who climb the pole to escape gingerbread warriors pillaging the village on their fearsome rocking horses.
