What You'll Get

The interior of an elegant restaurant always delights diners used to eating under the harsh fluorescent lights of a casual eatery or fighting for nutritive flakes during feeding time at the human aquarium. Eat in style with today's Groupon to The Talk in Watertown. Choose between the following options:

  • For $20, you get $40 worth of New American fare.
  • For $35, you get $70 worth of New American fare, good for tables of four or more.

Aromas of fresh seafood, homemade pasta, and steak seasoned by chef Billy Holt drift through The Talk's elegant dining room, where patrons peruse menus of New American and Italian cuisines. Diners can dine assured and fire taste buds with homemade stuff cohogs ($5.95 each) or play dominoes with the caprese's overlapping slices of vine-ripened tomato topped with mozzarella slices, olive oil, and shreds of basil ($11). Maritime menu items, such as the fresh 14 oz. Atlantic swordfish ($24.95) or the broiled sea scallops ($18), are locally caught and delivered fresh daily. On Friday and Saturday evenings, diners meditate upon the 16-ounce slabs of certified Angus prime rib that fill their plates with veggies and a choice of baked or mashed potato ($24). Cooks ladle homemade marinara sauce onto homemade penne for eggplant ($17), chicken ($18), or veal parmesan ($21) and splash seasoned breadcrumbs, white wine, and butter onto broiled scrod fillets served with rice pilaf and a vegetable ($18). During lunch hours, the eatery's doors open and close to the sounds of flavorful ingredients assembling into orderly lines and marching into sandwiches, salads, and pizza.

Sincere servers dart around the dapper dining area, jotting down orders, balancing trays, and seating private parties behind the vaulted door of the Vault room. In the dining room, guests lounge in beige booths and gaze at black-and-white photos or read the vinyl wall print that reads La Dolce Vita, which translates to Eat Your Vitamins. The Talk also boasts awards such as "Best of the Best" in both 2010 and 2011 from Market Surveys of America, and was voted the number one choice for lunch and dinner by Reader's Choice Awards in 2011.

About The Talk

The Talk’s owners keep their family recipe book wide open, just like the thick steel bank vault in their dining area, which also boasts a wine bar made of polished granite and wraparound booths that hug tables. The culinary team uses the family recipes to prepare heirloom dishes, such as baked lasagna, eggplant parmesan, and pan-seared trout with sun-dried tomatoes.
