What You'll Get
The best way to capture a wild, rampaging meal is to hook it with a gigantic pasta lasso. Test your throwin' arm with today's Groupon: for $18, you get $40 worth of elegant, Italian fine dining at The Talk in Watertown.
As chic as it is casual, The Talk serves Italian classics with a posh, modern flair within a dimly lit, romantic atmosphere. A steamy opener of mussels sautéed in white wine or tomato-basil sauce ($11) tests patrons’ Pavlovian responses before they mouth-tackle heartier entrees. Dive into a plateful of eggplant parmesan ($17) or conquer the 8-ounce filet mignon and its side of baked stuffed shrimp or broiled sea scallops ($29). The restaurant also features on Fridays and Saturdays a seasonal 1.5-lb. lobster special with scallop and bacon-herb stuffing, blanketed in newberg sauce with a side of fresh vegetables and potato-of-the-day ($32+). A frothy cappuccino can steamily cap off culinary journeys ($3.95), and chocolate fondu helps diners achieve their recommended daily dose of fruit, along with brownie and poundcake, without resorting to the tedium of cantaloupe bobbing ($12 for two or more).

About The Talk
The Talk’s owners keep their family recipe book wide open, just like the thick steel bank vault in their dining area, which also boasts a wine bar made of polished granite and wraparound booths that hug tables. The culinary team uses the family recipes to prepare heirloom dishes, such as baked lasagna, eggplant parmesan, and pan-seared trout with sun-dried tomatoes.
Sincere servers dart around the dapper dining area, jotting down orders, balancing trays, and seating private parties behind the vaulted door of the Vault room. In the dining room, guests lounge in beige booths and gaze at black-and-white photos or read the vinyl wall print that reads La Dolce Vita. The Talk also boasts awards such as "Best of the Best" in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 from Market Surveys of America, and was voted the number one choice for dinner by Reader's Choice Awards in 2011, 2013, and 2014.
