Live Jazz at The Tangiers
- The Show: On Wednesdays from 6:30–9:30 p.m., starting December 2, audiences enjoy a classy evening of live jazz music, plus late night happy hour specials on food and drinks from 9–11 p.m.
- The Musicians: Chicago jazz vocalist Lila Ammons, granddaughter of ’40s boogie-woogie jazz giant Albert Ammons (December 2, January 6, February 17); bossa nova crooner/keyboardist Daniel Williams (December 16, January 20, February 24); award-winning guitarist Dean Harrington, who summons Django Reinhardt as part of the Mill City Hot Club (December 23, February 3, March 9)
Weathered wooden beams stand like soldiers throughout The Tangiers, sectioning off different areas lit by sparkling chandeliers and flickering candlelight. On one wall, cherry-red leather booths extend up the exposed brick toward the ceiling, and custom artwork infuses the space with added elegance. Located inside the historic Hennepin Steam Building, the restaurant immerses its visitors in this lavish scene as they pass around flatbreads, hummus, and other small plates. Signature cocktails punctuate the ambiance, including the strawberry basil, with Three Olives Marilyn Monroe Strawberry, basil simple syrup, and fresh-squeezed lime juice.
