What You'll Get
Drinking wine is an activity that sometimes makes people believe they’re funnier, smarter, and taller than they actually are. Today’s Groupon prolongs these non-truths while teaching you the actual truth about where wine and babies come from. For $20, you'll get a two-hour wine class at The Tasting Room, a $45 value. Classes are held Mondays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 p.m.
Choose from any of The Tasting Room's class topics, including a novice's introduction to styles and process in Wine 101, or a more specialized class. Explore Chardonnays from five different continents while you learn about the use of oak and barrel manipulation to affect taste and development, or compare the subtleties of the left and right banks of the Gironde River's grapes in a lesson on Bordeaux. Sophisticated sippers may find the memory of a dewy adolescent hike to a dependably abandoned house in the bouquet and notes of fourth-grade, field-trip excitement in each taste.
Your class is taught by expert sommelier Brian White, who has swished each of The Tasting Room's 250+ handpicked wines in his certified mouth, often all at once. White holds his certification from the Court of the Master Sommelier, where he spent years moving up through the ranks, beginning with tasting the king's wines to detect poison, wine-washing the knights' swords for good luck, and battling wine-drunk dragons for the fair hands of grape-stomping maids.
Classes must be reserved 72 hours in advance. Space is limited, so call early to book the class you want.

- Best wine selection in the area, plenty of interesting and fun wines to try by the glass. Flights, wine tasting and wine dinners. This place is pretty cool. – Samuel L., Yelp
