What You'll Get
It seems like Shakespeare and vaudeville would make strange bedfellows, but that's not the case with Prospero's Storm. Taking place at the Theatre School at DePaul University, the play is based on The Tempest, the Bard's mystical story of the sorcerer Prospero and his elaborate plan to bring order to his native land of Milan. The story's tragicomedy style and strictly organized structure make it a perfect fit for the vaudeville form. The performance features some cinematic stage designs, not to mention requisite vaudeville flourishes like puppets, songs, slapstick comedy and even a bit of magic, weaving together a magical experience that puts an exciting twist on a classic story.
