Creative talents, like houseplants and celebrities, wilt without proper attention. Bolster skills to encourage healthy growth with today's Groupon: for $15, you get an evening adult painting class at The Tipsy Canvas (a $30 value).

The paint-wielding professors at The Tipsy Canvas instruct budding Rembrandts and veteran da Vincis in the joyous practice of applying acrylic pigment. Three-hour night classes convene from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on scheduled evenings. Attendees receive all necessary brushes, paints, and a canvas, all of which pair well with the creative juices and spirited beverages that all students are encouraged to tote along. Instructors guide students through the creation of masterpieces depicting images such as cityscapes, Tuscan landscapes, still-life objects, or a cat’s games of tic-tac-toe. Postpainting, students depart with a completed work of art tucked firmly beneath their arm. In the interest of courtesy and artistry, The Tipsy Canvas recommends that students arrive prepared to set up their station and dressed in either an old T-shirt or wedding dress.

About The Tipsy Canvas

The Tipsy Canvas first sprang into being in 2009. The founders wanted to create a new way for people to engage with art, even if they lacked experience. They found that step-by-step instruction from an artist and a glass of wine to loosen up gave people that opportunity. They now have three Texas studios where other artists follow their teaching example and help students recreate original works of art.
