The 6th-annual Moonlight Margarita Run is a 5K road race on the Trail at Lady Bird Lake. Proceeds will benefit The Trail Foundation, which protects the hike-and-bike trail surrounding Lady Bird Lake; the money will be used to renovate the Johnson Creek Trailhead, the path's busiest trailhead. The race starts at 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010.
Starting at “the rock” at the Johnson Creek Trailhead, near Austin High School, participants will run an out-and-back course, finishing on Veterans Drive. After the race's conclusion, good times will commence at the post-race gala with the help of the run's underwriting sponsor, Maudie’s Tex-Mex, who will provide dinner, margaritas, beer, ice cream, and live music under the stars. A free T-shirt is included with race entry.
