Blues guitarist Coco Montoya may be left-handed, but he doesn't play a normal left-handed guitar. In the tradition of lefty greats like Albert King, Jimi Hendrix and Otis Rush, this blues master plays an upside-down right-handed guitar. Montoya first gained fame playing alongside the legendary Albert Collins, who taught Montoya his "icy hot" guitar style. He went on to spend the 1980s as a member of John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, before starting a career as a bandleader in 1993. Montoya is a true bluesman, and his fellow musicians recognize him as one of the best guitarists working today. See him in concert at the Triple Door.
