Good Southern cooking can transport you to a country kitchen—biscuits in the oven, chicken frying in the skillet, and a bare-chested Ted Turner in the doorway with an armload of firewood. Experience true grits with this Groupon.

Something old mixed with something new. That's one way to describe the nostalgic, down-home recipes with inventive touches that The Truckstop is known for. Barbecue, sprawling brunch buffets, and hearty lunches of Southern fare anchor the menu, though they're not usually the plain-old classics you might be used to. Chefs dress the tri-tip benedict in a sriracha hollandaise for one, and house potatoes earn flavor points as they're tossed with fragrant rosemary. The décor too has a way of balancing modern touches and the charmingly rustic. Beneath the dark ceiling, bright sunlight exposes a mash-up of speckled, repurposed two-by-fours and industrial rope that add character amid the dining room's slick black countertops and flooring.

“Parking under the building is available but even though the restaurant gave us a validation ticket, the parking lot does not accept validations till after 1:00pm. The donut holes were delicious. I love chicken fried steak, it tasted wonderful but I like the outside crunchy and it was soggy but still delicious. If you go out the backdoor you can walk right out onto the Boardwalk, what a nice surprise. We loved it and will go back for sure!”
