How long does the assessment take and what is the length of each tutoring session. Also, what phonics program do you use? I'm familiar with the Orton-Gillingham approach.

The Tutoring Center uses The Rotational Approach to Learning (RATL) which was developed by Dr. Edward Thalheimer in 1991. This is a method of direct instruction that was originally developed to help students with ADD or ADHD. The RATL like the Orton-Gillingham Approach is a direct approach that uses instructional materials in a sequential manner. Our centers provide one-to-one instruction that keeps students engaged and helps to improve a student's concentration, focus and attention span. The content of our Phonics instruction would depend on the age and skill level of the student based on the Diagnostic Assessment using the Kaufmann Test of Educational Achievement. Depending on the grade level of the student, the Diagnostic Assessment takes from 1 to 1-1/2 hours/
