The monopoly tycoons of the nineteenth century traditionally did their wheeling and dealing at fine-dining establishments, cleverly concealing the fact that they still lived with their parents. Today's Groupon lets you dine like royalty: for $25, you get $50 worth of upscale cuisine at The Venetian Room located on World Center Drive.
Chef Khalid Benghallem, who was inducted into Orlando Magazine's Dining Hall of Fame in 2009, leads The Venetian Room’s crew of elite epicureans in preparing refined fare in an upscale, award-winning establishment. Start off with the signature lobster bisque ($15) while eyeing a main course, such as the juicy filet mignon in a black-truffle red-wine reduction ($41). Hang a fang on the duck a l’orange glazed with blood orange and accompanied by a sweet potato-pumpkin custard tartlet ($37). An attentive server stands on call to suggest a perfect pairing from a wine list more voluminous than Snoopy's vinyl collection. The Venetian Room resides inside the Caribe Royale and boasts a luxurious interior adorned with a copper-clad dome, cut-crystal chandeliers, and Old World décor.
The Venetian Room's dress code is semiformal with jackets recommended for men. Reservations are required.
