The Village Voice's Brooklyn Pour Craft Beer Festival unfolds on Saturday, October 6, at Skylight One Hanson in Fort Greene. In addition to filling their souvenir glasses with unlimited beer samples from breweries including Goose Island Beer Co., Lagunitas Brewing Company, and Harpoon Brewery, festival attendees can partake in scheduled demonstrations. In session one, author Joshua M. Bernstein leads a tasting of Sixpoint Brewery’s Autumnation and Jimmy’s No. 43 chef Jimmy Carbone demonstrates cooking with beer. In session two, Brooklyn Brew Shop founders Erica Shea and Stephen Valand teach audiences how to brew artisanal beers and Shamus Jones of the Brooklyn Brine Co. expounds on pickling using Dogfish Head’s 60 Minute IPA.

Hosted by Low Key of YouHeardTheNew.com, The Village Voice 4Knots Music Festival After-Party keeps the festival's momentum going with energetic hip-hop and DJ sets. Headlining rapper Ab-Soul will entrance the crowd with tracks from his new album, which recently topped the charts on iTunes. Known for their introspective insights, Ab-Soul's deft rhymes earned him a spot in hip-hop supergroup Black Hippy alongside the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, and Schoolboy Q. Special guests YC the Cynic and Jarren Benton will open the show, and DJ Meka from 2DopeBoyz.com will spin dancefloor bangers between sets. The all-night concert and after-party takes place in historical Webster Hall, which is full of expansive dance floors and full-service bars.
