Creating a 2-D rendition on canvas requires either the ability to masterfully wield a paintbrush or the strength to flatten a fruit bowl. Discover your artful brawn with today’s Groupon to The Vintage Easel. Choose between the following options:

  • For $17, you get a BYOB painting class for one (a $35 value).
  • For $33, you get a BYOB painting class for two (a $70 value).<p>

All materials are included, and students should arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled class time. The painting pedagogues at The Vintage Easel refine creative expression helping wine-sipping students, from novices to Rembrandt impersonators, craft masterworks with step-by-step instruction during their three-hour BYOB painting classes. Guests load up totes with favorite wines, beers, and snacks, staying sated as artisans proffer all the materials needed to create a masterpiece, such as brushes, paints, easels, and jaunty berets. Paint along to the strokes of local artists as they bring to life the class’s featured painting, such as a beach scene, a lighthouse, or a flower. When class concludes, artists skip home with their own unique magnum opus to replace gaudy velvet Elvis or velvet Mona Lisa paintings.

The Vintage Easel

In The Vintage Easel’s painting classes, students learn from famed painters such as Van Gogh and Edvard Munch. While both men have long since departed this world, their techniques live on in their brushstrokes, which students replicate with step-by-step instruction from local artists. Each class focuses on a single work, which can range from Munch’s The Scream to simpler images, such as a large sunflower. Of age students can bring along bottles of wine or beer to sip during class, while younger students can bring empty bottles to look at wistfully. The studio provides paints, brushes, easels and aprons.
