What You'll Get
For charities that rely on volunteers and donations, a lack of support can place great strain on their ability to assist people in need. The World is Fun mobilizes individuals to volunteer with charitable organizations and at fundraising events while forming a socially active community for fun and networking. With today's G-Team deal, you can sign up to volunteer with The World is Fun at the Warrior Dash, a 5K race that has agreed to donate money for meal programs in the Seattle area if they can get 50 volunteers per day. Volunteer shifts are available on both Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17 from noon–8:30 p.m. If 50 G-Team members volunteer on each day of the event, producer Red Frog Events will donate $5,000 to The World is Fun's Seattle-area food programs, which will go to fund up to 2,500 meals throughout the year for people in need. Volunteers are not required to participate both days, but are welcome to do so if they would like to.
G-Team volunteers will aid athletes in a 5K race—which spans across demanding terrain and intense obstacles—by distributing race packets to athletes at check in, supervising obstacles to ensure safety, coordinating food and merchandise stations, and distributing water at the start and finish lines. The Warrior Dash offers a fun festival atmosphere where volunteers can listen to live music and take in the thrill of athletic competition. Each G-Team member will also receive a free volunteer T-shirt and snacks throughout the day.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
