About Power Yoga East
A Chat with Power Yoga East
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our teachers are trained in various methods of yoga developing our own unique styles. At the end of class the student not only feels like they got the physical workout they needed, but also receive the emotional and mental support. We work to go back to the roots of yoga, moving beyond the asana and accessing the part that allows students to empower themselves.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
This studio has been a home to a community of movement based arts for more than 50 years. It began as a dance studio but has seen many different teachings over time. People from different walks have all shared the communal room in good spirit and positivity. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers used to practice their dance routines here. Power Yoga East began donation yoga classes over 25 years ago with the idea to make yoga accessible and affordable to all.
What do you love most about your job?
Our teachers love what we do and what we are able to share with our community! Most of our teachers have been instructing for over a decade or more.
What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer?
It's the gratitude our students express after feeling long term positive effects in their daily life. They learn that yoga isn't about working out, it's about working in and taking their practice out into the world.
