What You'll Get
Bike riding and live performance have a long history together, dating back to when clowns in pinstriped vests would juggle bikes while balancing on a lit torch. Continue a long tradition with today's Groupon: for $15, you get two adult admissions to Bike Ride with Theatre Skam at Cecelia Ravine Park (a $30 value). This Groupon is valid for performances on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10. Tours start at 3:30 p.m. and leave every 20 minutes until 6:30 p.m. Tickets for children ages 10–13 are $5, and admission is free for children 9 and younger.
Theatre Skam merges exercise and art with its annual Bike Ride, an outdoor festival in which cyclists ride along a 4-kilometre stretch of the Galloping Goose Trail and take in professional performances along the way. Journeys begin at Cecelia Ravine Park, the hub for biking audience members with a decor station for prettying two-wheelers with eco-friendly bells and whistles and playing cards from Mother Nature's annual poker game. Guides gather a dozen wheeled viewers at a time, leading them on 45-minute jaunts punctuated by three theatrical shorts of varying persuasions, including comedy, musical theatre, spoken word, and storytelling. At the end of each night, riders gather in the park for a jovial 75-minute set by a local band. Spectators may pedal through four tours per admission, totalling 12 shows, and spend time between sets munching on healthy concessions or marshmallow helmets.
