You know what they say about strange bedfellows. In the latest edition of Third Angle's ongoing Hearing Voices series, such disparate forms as music and spoken word merge in an intimate performance of poetry and storytelling. For the program, Third Angle commissioned a pair of works new to Portland audiences, including a new piece by musician LJ White, which incorporates original poetry by Michael and Matthew Dickman, plus a new arrangement by local composer Jay Derderian, featuring words by writer and visual artist Sandra Stone. Wrapping things up is Lee Hyla's Howl, an orchestral piece from 1993 written to accompany Allen Ginsberg's poem of the same name. Watch the art collide at Zoomtopia Studio.
