For $5, today’s side deal gets you one adult ticket to a Friday-night or Saturday-night Family Improv show at Third Coast Theater (a $10 value; student and child tickets are regularly $5).
The PG-rated program is led by a talented team of in-house improv experts in the vein of Drew Carey’s popular Whose Line Is It Anyway? show on the ABC Family Channel. As a member of the audience, you’ll not only create the show (skits are created on the spot from audience suggestions), you might be in the show, too. Each week, the guffawing gurus invite members of the peanut gallery on stage to act out scenes and test their improv skills.
Third Coast Comedy, started by husband and wife Dave and Donna Howell-DePew, was created as a family-oriented haven of hilariousities for all ages. At a Friday-night or Saturday-night Family Improv show, you won’t have to invent awkward explanations when your five-year-old nephew or 95-year-old grandmother asks the meaning of a dirty joke. The humor here is always good, clean, random fun.
Three Citysearchers give Third Coast Comedy an average rating of four stars:

- They are so funny. I have so much fun every time I go and sometimes [sic] they invite people on stage. The owners are very nice and everybody who is part of this little theater is great too. – Vipi
