Today's side deal gets you three meditation classes from Tilopa Buddhist Centre (a $30 value), a not-for-profit organization. These classes are ideal for beginners and all are welcome, regardless of spiritual practice or religion. You may attend classes at any of the eight locations listed on the right sidebar of this page. This offer excludes the "learn to meditate in half a day" courses and weekend retreats.
Classes are generally held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and involve practical instruction on Buddhist meditation, ideas, and practice. A teacher will take you through guided meditations and explain ways to put the positive benefits of meditation into practice during daily life. After class there is an opportunity to ask questions, and if you attend classes on a Thursday, the main centre sells soup and sandwiches before class. Meditation can lead to improved relationships with others, shifts in perception, more congenial conversations with yourself, and constructive behaviour when dealing with stress. Classes are taught as three to five week courses, with recommended, though not required, participation every week. Drop-ins are welcome, as all individual classes cover self-contained topics.
