About Tipsy Elves

It started with a sweater. An ugly sweater, to be more precise. An ugly Christmas sweater. In 2011, ugly Christmas sweaters were enjoying a resurgence, and Evan Mendelsohn took notice. He called up his buddy Nick Morton with an idea: to make their own ugly Christmas sweaters, but with their own little twists. The duo dreamed of wacky sweaters such as these: Jesus in a birthday hat, Santa Claus riding a unicorn, a Christmas sweater decorated with a giant Star of David. Mendelsohn and Morton's wacky sense of humor took them far. The sweaters were selling like hot cakes and, soon, the business garnered enough attention that Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec took the bait. Today, the company's got hundreds of cooky design to choose from, and not just sweaters—take rocket pop-covered swimsuits to pun-laden graphic tees, for example—many of which can be seen at everything from backyard barbecues to on Seth Rogen in his 2015 comedy The Night Before. Whatever the occasion, Tipsy Elves promises one thing: the "most outrageous clothes known to mankind."
