About Tofino Surf Adventures
Surfing instructor and Tofino Surf Adventures owner, Estuardo, figures he must have been a fish in has past life, which accounts for his ease in the water and his love for all things aquatic. After discovering surfing while backpacking through South Africa, he now spends his time converting dry landers to his cause while instructing them during surfing lessons. Typically, he and his fellow instructors teach beginners a primer on balance, buoyancy, and water safety before boldly leading them into area waters. The introductory lessons teach individuals, families, or small groups how to handle their first waves, whereas more advanced classes teach how to duck-dive, bottom turn, and trim waves. All the instructors at Tofino Surf Adventures are fully certified in accordance to British Columbia Association of Surf Instructors standards, which ensures they know proper safety measures and are allowed to use lingo such as “cowabunga, dudes.”
