An incredible story of hope and overcoming life’s unexpected challenges, Comedy Warriors follows five severely wounded service members who use humor as part of their rehabilitation process. We follow each veteran – with injuries ranging from burns to amputations – as they team up with celebrated comedians and comedy writers such as Zach Galifianakis, Lewis Black, B.J. Novak and Bob Saget, each of whom mentors the vets in crafting stand-up routines based on their experiences. Along the way, they also share their stories, from the moment they decided to enlist, to their experiences in combat, their struggles in coming home to heal and the role that humor has played in their rehabilitation. Writing sessions and round table discussions are an integral part of the film, which culminates in an inspiring live performance event at Tommy T’s Rancho Cordova.
