What You'll Get
Like waking a hibernating bear, waking a dormant stomach causes violent growls that can only be silenced by skewers of meat and 20 minutes of gentle patting. Ward off vicious appetites with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of Persian fare at Torange Restaurant in Coral Gables.
Torange Restaurant's Iranian chef tantalizes taste buds with a menu featuring Persian fare such as meaty kebabs, hearty stews, and aromatic rice dishes. The Soltani kebab combo comprises skewers of seasoned ground beef, marinated tenderloin, and chicken breast ($29). Non-threaded edibles include lamb shank braised in tomato sauce ($16 with green rice; $15 with white rice) or the veggie basmati rice festooned, like a farmer's eligible daughter, in fried tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, and bell peppers ($12). Alternatively, lighter fare such as grilled shrimp ($11) and baklava ($3) keeps fingers from falling asleep, and the plates' decorative designs elevate the elegance of dishes to a level previously attainable only by climbing Mount Vesuvius while wearing a satin robe.

About Torange Restaurant
Dark exposed rafters overlook yellow-and-gray checkered tiles and walls the color of melted butter. The dining room's rich color scheme echoes the dynamic flavor pairings in Torange Restaurant's authentic Persian menu and buffet. Accents of citrus, barberry, and pomegranate elevate steaming stews as well as plates of golden fried tilapia and marinated chicken. The chefs also warm kebab skewers with pieces of lamb, tenderloin, shrimp, and other meats, and each option is served with charbroiled tomatoes and hand-carved grains of rice.
