Federally licensed firearms instructors teach a six-hour course, which covers mechanics, legislation, carry methods, safety, and home-defense scenarios. They also integrate teachings on the psychology of victimization. The course includes a range test, rendering a Minnesota basic concealed-carry-course certificate of completion for submission to each student’s local sheriff’s office. The Minnesota certificate is honored in 23 states. Ammo is not included, but can be purchased at the range starting at $20. For liability reasons, ammo for rental firearms must be purchased at the range. Customers are also welcome to bring their own firearm and ammo; ammo must be factory brass cased.
