During an initial consultation, trainers assess which CrossFit class is best suited for you and then recommend pursuing either CrossFit 1 or CrossFit Elite. In both programs, certified instructors lead high-intensity routines that change constantly. To make sure no one gets left behind, trainers scale exercises to accommodate each participant. Workouts include a combination of gymnastics, Olympic-style weightlifting, rowing, and running.
The Training Box
Tardiness will cost you at The Training Box. For every minute of class latecomers miss, they must perform three burpees—a challenging union of pushups and jumping jacks. The gym operates under a no-excuses approach to fitness, packing its 6,000-square-foot functional training space with punching bags, a rock-climbing wall, and strength-training equipment, and conducting high-intensity CrossFit and MMA classes throughout the week. CrossFit Level 1 certified instructors shout words of motivation and favorite Dr. Seuss quotes to classes of students of all shapes and sizes, leading them through the daunting, ever-changing gamut of exercises. To keep patrons healthy outside the gym, staff members dole out nutritional tips and advice and even write up healthy menus that guests can follow at home.

“It's definitely an upgrade to the Crossfit training, it has the ability to provide a more challenging workout as you improve in skill. However, if your looking for general Crossfit training, I found the classes to large for a more private training atmosphere. They were great on teaching u the basics but due to the size of the basic Crossfit classes, it was hard for them to correct u on a regular basis.”
