Reading doesn't always involve words—just ask Katie Maxwell, the massage therapist behind Tranquil Kiwi Massage. At the start of her foray into the world of healing, Maxwell studied at the Aveda Institute in Denver. There, she learned to "read" the human body's manifestations of physical pain, unearthing the emotional stressors that cause muscles to ache, tense up, or listen to Joni Mitchell records all day.

Today, at her studio, Maxwell helps clients move past both physical and emotional pain with a variety of treatments. Depending on individual needs, she may recommend deep-tissue massage, cupping, cryotherapy, or even a relaxation-focused Swedish massage.
