What You'll Get
Jump to: The Last Resort
Today's elegant Groupon makes you the VI-est of VIPs: $25 gets you into the exclusive Treasure Island Yacht & Tennis Club for $50 worth of fine cuisine. TIYTC is a world-class private club located on the idyllic Boca Ciega Bay of Treasure Island. Normally, only club members have access to Treasure Island’s dining room and amenities, but the kind folks there are making an exception for this deal and opening their doors to the equally exclusive ranks of Groupies, giving you a chance to dip your upscale toes in the waters of luxury.
Take a seat in one of the clubhouse dining rooms, which range from casual to elegant in décor, depending on whether you're feeling full-on James Bondy or just run-of-the-mill Jude Law, and savor the creations of chef Jean Phillipe Polo. Try the lamb shank, on special Thursday nights for $14.95, or come in on a Wednesday to see live entertainment by Gene Cipriano in the Loft Lounge and catch the Maine lobster on special for $16.95. Breakfast is served Tuesdays through Sundays in both the lounge and dining room. Reservations are recommended for all dining.
This deal also gives you the opportunity to try out the extensive amenities at TIYTC for one month. When you buy this Groupon, you can purchase a one-month trial family membership for an additional $79, giving you unlimited access to the club's 13 tennis courts, fitness facilities, entertainment, Junior Olympic–sized pool, clubhouse, and meeting space. Not since your brief tenure in the X-Men have you had access to such splendiferous recreational grounds. Family membership dues are normally $235 per month. During the trial membership, the club will waive the initiation fee ($600) plus the fees for tennis ($60), and food and beverage ($50), making this optional Group-add-on a $945 value. Should you decide to continue your membership after the one-month trial, the $79 charge will be applied toward your initiation fee.
Note: A 20% gratuity will be applied to all dining and is not included in this deal.
The Last Resort
The Treasure Island Yacht and Tennis Club has pristine facilities ready to exercise every recreational muscle in your body; they should not should be confused with close competitor Long John Sliver’s Fancy Fun-insula, a ragged, one-man-run resort that is reportedly neither fun nor a peninsula. What amenities does Long John offer?
- Tennis ball bisque
- Long John’s Plane-Passing-Overhead Binoculars Experience
- Color television in common area
- Free grass
- Coldest handshakes in town—and that’s a promise.
