We had a blast. The staff was great, gave a good tutorial, and did a great job of steering us to fun routes while balancing an incoming corporate crowd. Their website text seems to imply you can't make same-day reservations, but the actual reservation process had same-day times. I called ahead to make sure they weren't too busy, and they were super nice on the phone, too. The Groupon came with gloves, too, so that was a nice bonus. The routes definitely vary in difficulty, but they were all great fun! We were a group of 4 adults and 2 young teens. All the courses were within our fitness ability, but they do restrict some courses to those over 12 -- and from our experience, it's the right call. Those with limited upper-body strength can probably get quite a lot out of the easier routes, but probably will struggle with the harder ones. The hardest routes did have "bail-out" points part-way through in case you decide you're over your head. Maybe this is obvious to most people, but it did take me a moment to understand how to use this Groupon: buy it for the number of people in your group, and Groupon will tell you it's processing (it said it could take up to 4 hours, but in reality it only took a few minutes). When it's done, you can reveal the code, and just ignore the warning that you should only do so if you're at the location. Instead, go to Treetop Quest's site to reserve a time, and when you go to checkout on their site, there's a box to enter a promo code. Copy/paste the code from Groupon, and it should drop the price to $0.00.

About Treetop Quest Gwinnett & Dunwoody

Nestled in the high branches of Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center, a network of ropes, ladders, and bridges invites amateur adventurers to scurry across their lengths. Although Treetop Quest’s ropes courses hover as high as 55 feet above the ground, guests stay safe thanks to a belay system that’s impossible to detach at canopy level. During self-guided adventures, they encounter more than 70 obstacles, whooshing along ziplines, scaling rope nets, and carefully crossing suspension and monkey bridges. Before guests ascend through the branches, instructors issue them harnesses and gloves and give them a thorough safety briefing. The courses vary in difficulty and height to accommodate all experience levels and ages, allowing visitors as young as 4 to enjoy a challenge, even if it’s just trying to sweet-talk a squirrel into sharing his stash of Corn Nuts.

Amid the excitement, Treetop Quest educates patrons on the surrounding environment through plaques and info boards at each course level. The courses operate sustainably to respect their arboreal hosts; the structures are treatment-free and don’t puncture the trees in any way.
