Q:

thinking of buying my daughter a bike shes 5 ft 10 in 200 lbs not really a bicyclist but can ride one is there anything available for about 200 dollars and if i buy a coupon for a 100 dollars may i use it toward the purchase of a bike something simple for her if possible what do you think

antonette s.  asked on  Jan 3, 2012

A:

There are no weight limits on any bikes but there are height requirements. Bikes typically range from XS to XL and are based predominantly on the leg length of the rider. You want about a 30 degree bend on the knee when the rider is sitting on the saddle with their foot on the pedal at the lowest point of the pedal stroke. We do not have any bikes that are $200 on the nose that are regularly marked that would apply to this coupon deal. Our adult bikes start generally start above the $450 mark.

Q:

Does this apply to in-store purchases only or also online sales?

Krystle A.  asked on  Jan 3, 2012

A:

Oooooo. Good question! We are not currently set up online to accept Groupon online but if there is something that you like call the store and see if we have it in stock. If not, we can always order it an apply the Groupon. Again great question. I will look into seeing if we can get that linked to our store. Thanks!

Q:

my husband needs a new bike. do you carry only Trek bikes or other brands? thx.

veronica d.  asked on  Jan 3, 2012

A:

We only carry Trek bikes. For several years we used to carry many other brands. However, we found the quality, manufacturer customer support, and availability of products to be the best from Trek. Therefore, we decided to focus our brand attention on a company that supports us and our clients.

Q:

thanks, so I did call the store they said 24.95 plus installation. i can still use the Groupon for this right?

Shane F.  asked on  Jan 3, 2012

A:

Yeppers! If you buy the appropriate deal for merchandise $25 for $50. It would apply to anything regular price except it will not cover the labor.

Q:

I have an older trek bike which has not been used for five years, it requires a complete tune up and new tires which do not hold air, is it worthwhile doing the work and how much, thank you

A:

It's hard to say without having the bike in front of us. There are so many variables that go on with ownership of a bicycle such as was the bike stored inside or out? What kind of shape is it in? Are the parts newer or completely worn out? How often was it ridden? What type of bike is it?...and so on. Prices for replacement parts depend on what is currently on the bike, the type of bike and also what the client is willing to spend (meaning do they want to upgrade for better riding, downgrade for savings, or stay the same for maintenance.) It's best to bring it in for a mechanic to review so that you can get the best possible estimate before you commit to a repair so that you are happy with the service.

Q:

Hi do you sell the bottom clips for Spin sneakers? If so, are they universal and how much are they. thanks

Shane F.  asked on  Jan 3, 2012

A:

Yes, we do. We sell SPD, Look, and Speedplay. They range in price but are around $19.99 to 39.99 depending on which cleats you are getting. The ones for 99% of the spin classes our there are SPD but there are a couple of Look compatible bikes kicking around. I would recommend getting the SPD. There is also an installation fee of $9.99. During the installation, they properly align your cleat, use an anti-seizing/anti-corrosive fluid on the cleat and also make sure there is the proper amount of torque to keep your cleats from moving but also keep from dealing with a stripped bolt.

Q:

Do you all carry bike shoes and if so which ones?

Anne c.  asked on  Jan 3, 2012

A:

Yes, we currently carry Shimano, Bontrager and Pearl Izumi. In the spring we will only be carrying Bontrager and Sidi. The Groupon is good on any regularly priced merchandise and not on sale items.
