When Jesse Muniz, the founder of Prestige Personal Training, graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s in exercise science, he plunged into the world of professional sports as a trainer. While there, he worked with many physical therapists and athletic trainers to help clients recover from injuries. In 2007, he decided to start Prestige Personal Training to bring his expertise to more people in need, specializing in clients with chronic disabilities such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple-system atrophy, and cerebral palsy.
In addition to hosting group boot camps and personal-training sessions in their two studios, he and his co-trainers make rounds across Chicago to privately train patrons in the comfort of their own homes. Most workouts last 60 minutes and cover plyometric training and cardiovascular-endurance builders. The staff arrives with the necessary equipment for each session, and at any point during the workout, their vehicles might release Bosu balls, kettlebells, or rabid wolverines to punch up the intensity. An all-important period of stretching bookends each session, keeping bodies limber and loose as exercises builds lean muscle.
TriFit Boot Camps
