Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival
On Saturday, August 17, mugs will fill with unlimited tastes of beers by Dogfish Head, Sierra Nevada, and dozens of other breweries at the Chesapeake Crab & Beer Festival. Attendees can purchase crab and other comestibles à la carte, pairing recommended beers with succulent claws from more than 50,000 crabs. Event staff dish out free watermelon slices throughout the day while the music of local and regional bands echoes from the main stage. In response to crowds at previous festivals, organizers have split the event into two sessions and have reduced the number of tickets available, allowing more room to breathe or perform gymnastics floor routines of gratitude.
