What You'll Get
Since the invention of inflation, prices for groceries have skyrocketed and rivers have become traversable. Enjoy the scenic side of economics with today's Groupon: for $149, you get a classroom introductory lesson and a private on-the-water kiteboarding lesson at True Blue Water Sports on Tamiami Trail North (a $348 value).
True Blue Water Sports brings aquatic gear, water-sports lessons, and peaceful paddle tours to the Naples area. Kiteboarding-advocate and co-owner David Peterson opened his laid-back shop to pique the interest of water-sports seekers, and his introductory classroom course and three-hour first-launch session do just that with their personalized instruction and open-water demonstrations. With an initial in-class course, would-be wave riders learn the theory, equipment handling, safety, and secret handshakes associated with the windy world of kiteboarding. After classroom lessons, pupils will schedule a three-hour individual waterborne training session with an energetic instructor. The beach will be chosen for optimal wind conditions in the North Naples area. During these one-on-ones, upper-body strength will be tested as students are led through a simulated review of basic commands and practices, including kite and bar setup, body surfing with the board, and self-rescue in the event of overly friendly krakens impinging on your personal space. All equipment is provided, but kiteboarders must supply their own wetsuits and footwear.
Fox 4 News featured True Blue Water Sports for its grand opening.
