Today's Groupon breaks into the home of the Braves without setting off the security alarm. Explore the innermost dugouts of Turner Field for $6 with this Groupon (a $12 value). You get a tour, admission to The Ivan Allen Jr. Braves Museum & Hall of Fame, and free parking in the green lot.

Southern Living magazine says the best time to explore Atlanta's fabled ballpark is on an off day. The tour starts at the Braves Museum & Hall of Fame, where more than 600 Braves artifacts and photographs tell the story of the team from its Boston beginnings to an unprecedented championship run in Atlanta. Behold the 1995 World Series trophy, Hank Aaron's famous home-run ball and bat, and the old stadium's dugout bench.

Stadium tours start on the top of the hour and last about an hour (click here to see the schedule). You see Coca-Cola Sky Field, Scouts Alley, the broadcast booth, a luxury suite, the press box, clubhouse, plaza, and dugout (route and schedule are subject to availability—another good reason to go on an off-day).

Turner Field, which used to be the Olympic Stadium for the 1996 summer games, is an Atlanta institution unrivaled for its savory blend of technology and entertainment. It has 500 TV monitors, a 21-ton video board with more than 331,000 fluorescent light bulbs, and a 27-foot neon tomahawk located atop the video board.

Reviews

Southern Living wrote about the Turner Field tour, and Turner Field is one of the top 10 attractions in Atlanta on 10Best.com's travel guide:

  • The best time to visit Turner Field may very well be on an off day. Then, when you don't have to get around 50,000 other fans, you can explore Atlanta's fabled baseball park to understand how the Braves became our national team. At the Ivan Allen Jr. Braves Museum & Hall of Fame, groups set out every hour to hear lively stories shared in the quiet of a summer day. As your guide leads you up to the Coca-Cola Sky Field, you can see the sports tradition nurtured here... don't feel awkward about gawking at the 1995 World Series trophy, the ball and bat Hank Aaron used for his famous home run, and the dugout bench from the old stadium. Everyone who visits can't get enough of these great artifacts. – Annette Thompson, Southern Living

Turner Field has a perfect five-star rating on Insider Pages and a four-star rating on Yelp. One Yelper gave the museum four stars:

  • You don't have to be a Braves fan to love a tour of Turner Field and the museum attached to it. It's great fun for adults and kids. – Mike G., Insider Pages
  • Turner Field to me is very.........shiny. It just comes off as a vibrant, color full, lots to see and do stadium. It's almost like looking through the screen of a brand new LCD TV. It's that sharp. – Eric S., Yelp
  • Walking through the museum felt somewhat surreal because they had items on display like Hank Aaron's home-run record breaking baseball bat and the 1995 World Series trophy. – Justin B., Yelp
