Q:

What if for some reason we are unable to pick up our order at the date/time scheduled, for instance, in bad weather or illness?

Cheryl L.  asked on  Sep 28, 2013

A:

Our volunteers are at each pick-up location during the specified times only. Someone else can pick-up the order for you. In the case of bad weather we will have a winter weather plan in place by the winter to best accommodate mother nature.

Q:

Can you give me some idea on what veggies and fruit cost, are they all organic? What about the grass fed beef? A pound of grass fed ground beef is what. How can I see prices before I join? Thanks.

Nancy B.  asked on  Sep 29, 2013

A:

Go to www.twincitieslocalfood.com. Go to the Shop Tab then click on the Product List to view prices. Prices are only visible when the order pages are open (Friday morning through Wednesday morning). Some of our farmers are certified organic while others have organic practices but have not gone through organic certification. Visit our 'Meet Your Farmer' page where each farmer describes their farm and farming practices.

Our Eden Prairie pick-up location is at Fred's Bread on Thursday's from 4pm-6pm. You can have someone else pick-up your order. If we don't hear from you, we donate the perishable items to local food shelves.

Q:

As a vegetarian, I would prefer a package without meat. Is that a possibility?

Meredith K.  asked on  Sep 26, 2013

A:

Yes, you pick and choose only the items you desire. Everything is a la carte. Some of our farmers do create boxes or packages but you only purchase the items you want.

Q:

Is there a website that shows what is available in the winter? Would it be just meat and cheese?

Barbara E.  asked on  Sep 24, 2013

A:

We have vegetable farmers that have storage facilities for items such as potatoes, onions, winter squash, carrots, etc. Also, a farmer that grows in several high tunnels which offers extended growing seasons. Last year we offered tomatoes into November.
