Using super glue to fix elusive moments in time can have unwanted and irreversible effects, such as permanently bonding newly bipedal babies to the linoleum. Capture important memories and ensure a lifetime’s more with today’s Groupon: for $30, you get a "Making Your Summer Picture Perfect" fundamentals of camera operation workshop at Twin Cities Photography Group in St. Paul (a $60 value).
Designed to unsnarl the full range of manual camera features, this fundamentals workshop illuminates differences between shooting in raw and jpeg formats, how best to use auto-focus settings, and the delicate art of light metering, as well as many other basics. The workshop is geared toward visual chroniclers bearing basic or advanced point-and-shoot digital cameras, as well as those sporting DSLR models and digitally converted camera obscuras. Small class sizes allow for individual attention from the instructor, and reduce the amount of time landscapes have to hold their poses.
During the month of June, the shutterbug training sessions are scheduled to occur on select Saturdays (including June 11 and June 25, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and Thursdays (including June 16 and June 30, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m). Class schedules for July and August are TBA. Students can register online online, and are asked to bring their own camera, manual, and Groupon to class.
