Linda is awesome. If you are serious about instruction. Linda is a serious instructor focused on correct riding instruction and safety. She gives credit where it is deserved but more importantly she gives serious critique and is a no frills instructor. She will encourage and help you from safe riding styles to preparing you to show. I respect and admire her knowledge and experience. 10 stars!!
My niece and I took our first lesson from Linda. When we walked away I wondered out loud to my niece "Do you think she actually likes teaching?" My niece aptly replied "If she likes putting people down." Although we thought about skipping out, we returned for our second lesson and luckily Linda was too busy so she had a teen named Hailey teach us. Hailey was a much better teacher than Linda and didn't belittle us once. At the end of the lesson my niece said "That was fun. I'd take lessons from her." So here's my tip. Do NOT take your child for a lesson with Linda. Instead request only Hailey.
I wouldn't recommend for children or adults that have never been on a horse before. The trainer is great with a strong personality, but wouldn't mesh well with sensitive kids or anyone trying ro rise for the first time rhat doesn't know anything about horaes. Scheduling was kind of a handful. You need to buy a riding helmet and proper boots so be prepared to make an investment. Just know that before purchasing the groupon. Trainer was nice overall. I don't like to leave bad reviews, so I am giving this a 3 star. My experience was unpleasant and I left terrified of horses and self conscious about myself from the experience. There was little to none explanation on how to ride a horse before I was put on the horse. When the horse was upset with me, I wasn't getting or understanding the direction on how to fix the situation. I continued on the horse while it was acting out towards me. The trainer was on a cell phone and talking to another parent. Then I felt as I was being mocked at for being nervous. This is a good fit for someone that has ridden before.
