- $17 for $30 worth of English eats
In 19th-century Cornwall, miners would carry a folded pastry wrapped in brown paper down into the mines with them. At lunch time, they would grasp the pastry by a ribbed edge of dough, so they could eat the tender filling of beef, potato, and rutabaga without getting coal dust in their food. These meals became known as Cornish pasties and still fill the bellies around Cornwall to this day.
Twisted Pasty takes this traditional meal and puts a contemporary spin on it. In addition to it's classic Miner Pasty, the restaurant serves pasties stuffed with curry chicken, Greek vegetables, and shrimp kimchi. Nibble on the Carne Adovada stuffed with authentic New Mexico red chile pulled pork stew, Achote rice and cheddar cheese or eschew the pocket meal in favor of a stack of enchiladas or a flame-broiled burger. Like any good English meal, pair your pasty with one of the restaurant's craft beers including Tieton dry-hopped cider, Leavenworth Navigator, or Stone Ruination.
