The tomato is the cornerstone of Italian cuisine, lining the insides of its pizzas, crowning its pasta noodles, and doubling as stress balls for its irritable chefs. Build a feast on the fruit-vegetable with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Italian cuisine and drinks at Two Brothers From Italy Ristorante & Pizzeria in Elmhurst.

For more than three decades, Two Brothers From Italy’s Battaglia family has used the same recipes to sauce its extensive menu of specialty pizzas, pasta, and authentic Italian entrees, doling them out in generous helpings. Buttress a robust pizza pie with a pan, stuffed, or whole-wheat crust before festooning it with toppings that range from classic staples to adventurous add-on flavors, such as prosciutto, ricotta, and CGI fireballs ($1.60 each). Eggplant, ricotta, and sun-dried tomatoes can hitch an open-air ride atop a crisp, homemade thin crust cheese pan pizza ($10 for a 10") or synchronized-swim through the cozy confines of a stuffed cheese pizza ($12.50 for a 10"). Otherwise, occupy listless forks with tomato-basil spaghetti ($10.95) or a tender filet of orange roughy florentine ($16.95).

Two Brothers From Italy’s arched doorways open onto an inviting dining room where Italian music wafts romantically through the air, chandeliers glow with warm incandescent light, and crisp white tablecloths impersonate Dean Martin's tablecloth by soaking up a surprisingly large number of spilled cocktails.

About Two Brothers From Italy Ristorante And Pizzeria

In 1976, an empty Elmhurst storefront became the conduit for chef Angelo Battaglia’s culinary dreams when he founded Two Brothers from Italy Ristorante & Pizzeria with his wife, Rosalia. Now grown to four times its original size, the restaurant still serves up Angelo’s original recipes, prepared under the guidance of the Battaglias' daughter, Joanne. The voluminous menu swaps between pizzas peppered with 29 different toppings and pastas served with your choice of 10 noodles and eight sauces. Waiters ferry each plate beneath rounded archways into a dining room whose white tablecloths and floral accents radiate refinement. Private party specials, including a seven-course family-style meal, feed clusters of 25 or more without the need to pry off an asteroid-sized chunk of the moon's cheese.
