Moving can be a stressful experience, especially when it’s into the Justice League headquarters and the Green Lantern insists you carry his 400-pound ping-pong table. Hire professional movers to handle the Flash’s priceless Fabergé egg collection with today’s Groupon: for $97, you get $200 worth of moving services from Two Marines Moving, serving those moving within 150 miles of the Marines’ home base in Alexandria.

Founded by an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who served six admirable years in the Marines, Two Marines Moving uses the Marines’ ethos of honor and commitment to ensure a safe, effective, and efficient move. The staff of active, retired, and reservist Marines will handle your household and/or business goods, so you won’t have to rent a truck and deal with moving’s physical toll. Two Marines Moving charges $49–$55 an hour per Marine in addition to a flat rate of $99 for truck and equipment (including dolly, shrink wrap, and blankets), so this deal should cover about an hour’s worth of moving with two resourceful, tactically organized military movers. Pricing obviously fluctuates for each move, but the typical cost of moving a studio apartment is around $350–$500, and a one-bedroom around $450–$550. The Two Marines Moving staff aims to please with its clean, properly padded trucks and warm, professional courtesy.

With 70% of its staff hailing from the Marines, and many others from the Army, Navy, or Air Force, you can rest assured knowing your precious goods are in the arms of physically gifted and mentally disciplined soldiers. Two Marines Moving will proceed with your move in rain, shine, sleet, or snow, so your goods will get to their destination even if your new apartment was obliterated by the aliens from Independence Day.

  • The guys did an excellent job packing the truck, were very polite and professional and took extra care to ensure the fragile items we were concerned with were well padded. The unloading went just as fast and not a thing was broken – robwillis89, Yahoo! Local
  • These guys are very good. They are efficient, fast, organized, courteous, fit, and strong. They said they took two 5-minute breaks in 3.5 hours, but I never actually saw them stop or even slow down.

About Two Marines Moving

When Nick Baucom returned stateside from six honorable years of service in the US Marines, he found himself with some time on his hands. Given his strong character and equally strong back, his friends and family often asked him for help moving. Nick discovered that organizing and conducting a move utilized many of the same leadership and management skills he had employed in the Marines. To prevent these useful skills from atrophying, he started Two Marines Moving, fueling himself with a personal mission to make one of life's most stressful acts more manageable for his clients.

While Nick still runs the business today, the name Two Marines Moving hardly seems appropriate anymore. He employs more than 60 veterans, who load, transport, and unload items of all shapes and sizes, including boxes full of books, couches, and pianos. So far, they've completed more than 20,000 successful relocation missions. Each staffer receives professional moving training upon joining the company, equipping them to deal with any kind of object, from delicate electronics to hefty closet skeletons.
