About Tyler Arboretum
Visitors could explore Tyler Arboretum for hours and still not see everything it has to offer. For one thing, it's huge—the arboretum covers 650 acres of woodlands and gardens crisscrossed with 17 miles of hiking trails. For another, it's constantly hosting educational programs and special events. Through mid-October, visitors can see Tyler's visiting goats, part of a sustainable meadow-management initiative. There is fabulous natural beauty at Tyler every day of the year, season after season. The exhibits here—not to mention the flora and fauna—change by the month, week, and day. While Tyler Arboretum is open year-round, some of the most alluring times to visit are in the summer—when the vibrant seasonal flowers are in full bloom—and in fall, when the autumn foliage transforms into fiery red, orange, and yellow hues. Spring bursts with magnolias, lilacs, rhododendrons, and fragrance.
Some of the arboretum's most colorful exhibits include a small pond, a 1,400-square-foot butterfly house, and seven interactive tree houses (open March 15 – November 30) scattered across the property. Tyler Arboretum is open year-round for families, artists, nature lovers, bird lovers, hikers, tree lovers, and wanderers of all ages.
