Wow, fun, educational, an awesome day!

This is a beautiful place! A guided tour is included in your admission cost, and the detail they offer is wonderful. It is a well manicured delight, but still very natural and authentic. Seeing a giant sequoia was an unexpected pleasure! Grand trees planted 150+ years ago still stand here. The manicured area of the Arboretum is surrounded by a tall fence (needed to deter deer) with several points to exit onto a walking trail. This is not a thrill seekers paradise, but if you enjoy a leisurely time to connect with history and the beauty of nature here is where they intersect beautifully. It's family friendly with areas designed specifically for younger guests. On the grounds is a beautiful stone barn which has been restored and modernized, and is available for rent as a venue. It houses modern bathrooms for use by park guests. The entrance houses a very small gift shop. Food and drink are not sold on the grounds, but there is a lovely picnic area if you bring your own.

About Tyler Arboretum

Visitors could explore Tyler Arboretum for hours and still not see everything it has to offer. For one thing, it's huge—the arboretum covers 650 acres of woodlands and gardens crisscrossed with 17 miles of hiking trails. For another, it's constantly hosting educational programs and special events. Through October 15th, 2017, guests can see Tyler's visiting goats, part of a sustainable meadow-management initiative. There is fabulous natural beauty at Tyler every day of the year, season after season. The exhibits here—not to mention the flora and fauna—change by the month, week, and day. While Tyler Arboretum is open year-round, some of the most alluring times to visit are in the summer—when the vibrant seasonal flowers are in full bloom—and in fall, when the autumn foliage transforms into fiery red, orange, and yellow hues. Spring bursts with magnolias, lilacs, rhododendrons, and fragrance.

Some of the arboretum's most colorful exhibits include a small pond, a 1,400-square-foot butterfly house, and seven interactive tree houses (open March 15 – November 30) scattered across the property. Tyler Arboretum is open year-round, and beautiful with its blazing fall color, beautiful trails for winter, and spring blooms that start as early as February.
