In the email sent that asked, "Would you recommend University Air Center?" I accidently hit "not really" before correctly hitting "yes." Just FYI for your feedback data. Anyways, I bought this as a gift for someone and will definitely do it again. It is a great gift for the adventurous type!!

What You'll Get

Pilots are the cowboys of the air, roaming the wide-open skies and herding children's runaway balloons. Giddy up, up, and away with today's Groupon to University Air Center.

$70 for an Introductory Flight Lesson ($149 Value)

Before taking to the skies with an experienced University Air Center pilot, students report for a half-hour basic ground orientation to learn flight basics and such important terms as pitch, yaw, and plane. Pupil and pilot then climb aboard the school's Cessna 172 for a 30-minute introductory flight in which the student takes the controls and guides the aircraft through the atmosphere, challenging storks to mid-air games of chicken. Post-flight, fliers receive a flight-verification certificate.

About University Air Center

University Air Center dispatches its gravity-defying fleet on charter, rental, and training flights from its airborne offices located at Gainesville Regional Airport. A shiny, new Eclipse EA-500 cools its jets in the hangar bay, waiting to take its business-class passengers to their destinations at more than 400 mph, speeds once only achieved by cheetahs fired out of cannons. Trainees climb into the center's Redbird FMX simulator for ground-based training, or ride in a Cessna 172 for an actual flying experience. The aviators also tackle plane maintenance and avionics repairs as customers watch the twin big screens in the lounge or look up pilots' preferred knock-knock jokes on the complimentary computers.
