What You'll Get
Biologists estimate that water makes up 65% of the human body, 71% of the planet's surface, and 0% of the R&B group Earth, Wind & Fire. Conquer the planet’s most prevalent liquid with today’s Groupon: for $50, you get a two-hour Surfing 101 – Beginner Group lesson from University of Surfing in Pacifica (a $100 value).
The experienced, local instructors at University of Surfing tutor pupils on the basics of wave riding during two-hour introductory classes. After steadying board footing on land, students mount soft safe longboards that allow them to safely conquering turbulent waters and avoid inflatable orcas. Since classes are taught in shallow waters during low tide, they can accommodate students aged 5–70 who already have basic swimming skills. An included wetsuit and booties insulate the skin against cold water, but are not guaranteed to protect against an asteroid breaching the earth's atmosphere. Classes are usually held on Saturdays and Sundays, with some exceptions; students can click here for a full calendar.
