For $45, today's deal gets you admission for a team of two (a $90 value) to the Washington DC Urban Dare Adventure Race on Saturday, April 23 at noon The race kicks off McFadden's on Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest.
Urban Dare Adventure Race is a fast-paced competition that challenges two-person teams to decipher clues, navigate the city, and perform playful stunts. A dozen trivia-based clues lead contestants to checkpoints all over Washington DC, where they must use a camera to document their presence and, in some cases, the completion of challenges. Participants will be on foot or they may use public transportation. Races generally last less than four hours, and the winning team receives free entry to the Super Dare, a cruise-based take on the Urban Dare concept that features a $5,000 grand prize. Proceeds from the race are used to help battle breast cancer.
Although there aren't many online reviews for Urban Dare, D magazine's FrontBurner blog covered the Dallas race.
- We covered about eight miles, seven of those on foot. (We were allowed to use public transportation only—no taxis.) We finished in 3 hours flat. The winning couple (second from the right in this photo) finished in 1 hour, 45 minutes. – Jason Heid, FrontBurner
