Students will use rubber weapons to learn the ins and outs of dagger and knife fighting before mastering parkour and tackling an American Ninja Warrior–based obstacle course complete with parkour challenges and flying rubber daggers. The masked students will rise from apprentice to master ninjas, ready to battle any invisible enemies. Vietnamese banh mi and nonalcoholic beverages will be provided throughout the event (vegetarian options are available upon requests made in advance). At the end of the class, students-turned-ninjas will be issued an Urban Evolution ninja mask and a sword. Adults will be issued a real edged ninja sword, while kids receive a real bokken, or wood practice sword, to take home. However, participants may not remove swords from their packaging until they are off Urban Evolution’s premises.<p>

Urban Evolution

The world is a playground, according to the stunt artists and gymnasts who helm Urban Evolution. At this CNN- and Channel 11 WBAL -featured gym, there are no treadmills or stationary bikes. Instead, dance-like movements and acrobatic leaps propel visitors toward apexes of fun and fitness. To ready physiques for such feats, ropes, trapezes, and gymnastics equipment facilitate body-weight exercises that build balance, flexibility, and coordination. Seasoned instructors oversee the training space, teaching students how to jump, climb, crawl, and tumble as safely as possible during movement-focused classes such as Parkour, Free Running, and Aerial Acrobatics. Kettlebells and other functional strength-training tools power UrbanFit conditioning workouts, which give participants the brawn to perform everyday tasks such as pushing lawnmowers, lifting grocery bags, and drawing sleighs filled with lazy reindeer.

Customer Reviews

My 4 year old loved his first parkour class!

Great instructions & intro session. Was really fun and groupon was a great deal to get into parkour!
Sebastian S. · June 12, 2017
It was awesome. The reason I did not give it two of the five stars was for two reasons. First, there was a child in the class that was out of control. Also,I wish the instructor would've handled it more. Next, it is a little bit more pricey then I would like to see. For someone like myself that is on a low income; reality is more than likely my son is not going to be able to go much. Nevertheless, overall it was good. In addition,my son got a ton of exercise and had a great time doing it.
