Urban Fondue has a deceptively simple motto: sip, dip, and dine. But don't be fooled. Those three words translate into hundreds of possibilities once you step foot inside the restaurant's dimly-lit interior. Awash in red, the dining room houses plush chairs and booths with backs high enough to accommodate even the most ambitious of stilt walkers. It's here that couples, friends, and families start their meals with cheese fondues, each made in house with the likes of local smoked cheddar or brie cheese swirled with with gorgonzola.
Main courses bring even more options, starting with a choice of cooking broth—perhaps chicken or tomato fennel—and then meat options such as pork or new york strip steak. You'll probably also want to choose dipping sauces for the meat, such as apple-chipotle relish, and a closing dessert fondue made with peanut butter or chocolate. As for sipping, that takes place right next door at Urban Fondue's sister establishment Bartini, where bartenders mix and pour more than 100 creative cocktails. "Liquid desserts" are a specialty, including the oatmeal-cookie martini and the Snickertini.
