On the Groupon, it's states you can Purchase 3 -Tans(in traditional Bulb Tanning bed) or One Mystic "Spray" Tan in lieu of 3 Bulb tans. When I reached out to Urbana Tan Via Google Business messaging, the owner told me they do NOT offer spray tanning on Groupon. I apologized, as I must have read the Groupon wrong. I went home screenshoted the Groupon I had purchased and sent them to the owner, to let him know that a Mystic Spray tan WAS being offered on their Business Groupon(s) and the screenshots to prove it. He was very short and rude, and said that it was "Groupons" fault for putting that on there, and that If I had an issue with it I would need to take it up with Groupon NOT him or or his business. Whatever, It wasn't about the price of a Spray tan, I purchased the Groupon as I live in the Urbana Villages where the business was located and wanted to support local business. I was also flying out to West coast that evening for my niece's wedding and didn't have time to book another elsewhere. So I got Spraytan done at Urbana Tanning. The girl seemed super irritated that she was having to do one, I asked do you have to remove make up? As I seen make up wipes for sale on their shelves. She told me no. This was absolutely WRONG! You 100% do or you end up with a blotchy tan face that's super tan in some places not tan in others and it peeling ontop of it. I spent the entire plane ride Googling "how to even out a Spray tan" so I could fix my face before anyone saw it. She also didn't explain how to position/hold my hands or advice to cover palms of hands, so my palms were also dark and peeling. I ended up using baby oil and sugar spending hours scrubbing it off my face, and hands and trying to blend it in so tan line didn't cut off at my wrists. It's a shame they treat their "Groupon" customers like that, assuming they don't have money to pay for full services, when in fact The customer lives in the housing development and would have used their services(paying full price) frequently if they would have been provided with decency and minimum customer service.

From Sun to Spray: The Evolution of Cosmetic Tanning

A tanning bed is just one of the ways humans have learned to give their skin a bronze sheen. Check out Groupon’s exploration of the evolution of tanning.

Before it was considered a sign of a healthy individual, tanned skin was the sign of someone gravely ill. In fact, for centuries people considered pale skin a mark of sophistication, but the stigma was reversed in 1929 when fashion mogul Coco Chanel, freshly bronzed after a yachting trip, said, “A girl simply has to be tanned.” Almost instantly, the tan became a trademark of luxury and style, and throngs of people began to include ample sunlight as part of their beauty regimens.

However, not everyone could afford such luxuries as sunbathing on the French Riviera or bathing in Italian volcanoes—and the winter months made getting a little sun difficult no matter what. To solve this dilemma, German scientist Friedrich Wolff introduced a system of specialized ultraviolet lamps and reflectors in 1978, sparking the tanning-bed revolution. This new approach, which artificially mimics the sun’s natural radiation, offered a way to achieve a sun-kissed hue indoors, but various shortcomings—such as the potential hazards of overexposure to the tanning beds’ uncomfortable box springs—led to a new approach: eschewing UV rays altogether. Concoctions of cosmetic creams and sprays soon hit the market, most making use of dihydroxyacetone (DHA)—a sugar, derived from plants, that temporarily darkens the pigment in the outermost skin cells, in a process quite similar to the effect from sun exposure.
